Beach Trip 2016

For the past 10 years or so, we had some family friends who had a condo at the beach and graciously let their friends stay there for FREE.  We have rarely had to pay to go to the beach in all those years, however, this year they sold their condo!  Oh the sadness! Ha!

Anyway, we have been so busy this summer that we didn't even have time to go to the beach at all until just a couple of weeks ago.  John couldn't get off work, and my brother had to work, too, so mom and I took Fitz.

We went down on a Friday, ate lunch once we got to Gulf Shores, and then stayed on the beach as long as possible and it was wonderful!

On our way down, my brother found out he was hired for a new job, and he couldn't resist quitting his other job right away so he could join us at the beach!  Then, Saturday morning John called, and really wanted to come down, too.  He found someone to work for him Sunday so he could surprise us Saturday night!  We had only a 1 bedroom condo, so we were tight in there, but we were so glad John and Zac could meet us at the beach!!

You know I couldn't resist a sunrise shot Saturday morning...
We didn't tell Fitz that John and Zac were coming because we would have had to answer when they would be there about 298439 times that day.  We had another fun relaxing day on the beach!
Pretty clouds surrounded us but it never rained a drop!

On our way to dinner, I bribed Fitz to pose for a quick beach cute is this smile??

Uncle Zac made it in time for dinner Saturday night, and then daddy got there not long after.  Uncle Zac and Fitz just had to ride the go-carts one time...
We spent ALL DAY Sunday on the beach, which is just how we like to do it!

I knew Fitz wouldn't like it, but we had to get one family beach shot since we were all there together:

We went to our new favorite, Shipp's Harbour Grill for dinner...
and Souvenir City for a little shopping afterwards:
It was a quick little trip but we are already planning for a longer one in a bigger condo for next summer!

Fitz turns 5!

Since we just got a new pool right before his birthday, it was only fitting that we broke it in with a pool party for the big birthday boy in June!  He chose a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle (TMNT) theme, to go along with the swimming!

We didn't invite quite as many people as we usually do, because we were a little nervous about a pool full of 4 and 5 year olds, but all the kids had so much fun!

 How cute is that cake?!?
He had a blast playing with all of his new toys, too.  We pretty much stayed outside in or near the pool alllll day long!
I didn't do my usual letter to Fitz, so I'll say a few things on this post 5 years old, Fitz is:
- inquisitive
- smart
- perceptive
- very aware of everything around him
- never forgets anything
- super sweet most of the time
- so chatty I'm amazed we ever doubted his speech abilities
- so much fun
- entertaining
- loves watching movies, especially 80's classics like Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Ghostbusters, The Sandlot, Scooby Doo and Casper
- still into super heroes, but more into TMNT and Ghostbusters now
- pretty much the best thing that ever happened to me and John.

Baseball 2016

I don't think there is a child that enjoyed baseball more than Fitz!  He took every single opportunity to run out on that field and put on a show for his admirers!  And we loved every minute of it!

He and his buddy Kipton had a ball together!
Kipton's dad was our coach and he was so patient with all of the boys!

 One of my faves:

He was a little disappointed that he didn't get a trophy at the closing ceremony...
But his sweet coach had a big party at his house, and he got one there! These boys loved their coach!

We can't wait for spring to do it all again!!

Mother's Day 2016

I've always loved Muffins with Mom at Fitz's school, and this year did not disappoint!  I got him this cute shirt to wear...
He filled out some info about me...

We planted a flower together, and decorated the little pot, and he got me some cute little handmade gifts:

He even reluctantly took a picture with me:
I couldn't be more proud to be his Mama!

After church on Mother's Day, we went to Desoto Caverns to check out the cave!  Since it was Mother's Day, I got in free, and Fitz was less than 5, so he did, too!  Score!

Fitz loved checking out the cave...

Of course, we were suckered into excited about seeing the butterfly gardens, and outdoor exhibits, too.

It was a fun family day spent with my sweet guys, without whom I wouldn't be a mama! I hope y'all had a happy Mother's Day, too!!

End of Preschool

I know it's August and time for all back to school things, but since I never posted about the end of preschool, here ya go...Fitz graduated from Pre-School in May!

Look how much he grew from September to May!!
They sent a note home one day that said Fitz was chosen to have a speaking role in the end of the year program, and he was SO excited!  I was a little see one day in preschool he sang Karaoke at school and the song he chose was "Whip Nae Nae" but he sang it as a heavy metal song..?!?  So he said he couldn't wait to get that microphone again and sing it again.

These are all his friends from his preschool class:
I got there super early so I could get a front row seat for his acting debut, and I was successful!  However, he was a little nervous seeing us in the front row and tried not to look at us the whole time, ha!

The little skit was all about how God made each one special, and I just loved that he was chosen for that part because clearly, God made him so special!  He did a great job, and only said his lines.  He didn't rap or perform any heavy metal songs at all.
He was so happy to run across the stage and get his little diploma!  He RAN as fast as he could to get it!

He was even happy to pose for a few pics with us after the program.

Official graduation photos:

Is he not the cutest little graduate you've ever seen??

P.S. The lady with the apron on who also handed out the diplomas?  That's Ms. Melinda, the director of his preschool.  As I type this, she is in the hospital where she has been for several weeks, sick from issues from pancreatitis.  Please say a little prayer for her!
